Once a week the KernersvilleNews are asking Candidates of Kernersville's local election a question to be featured in the KernersvilleNews paper.
This week's Question and Answer with John Stafford Stanley.
Q: What do you believe will be the biggest issue facing Kernersville over the next two years?
A: Kernersville time and time again has been presented with issues, and we have pulled together to overcome them. No matter what issues we may face in the next two years I am confident that our town and residents will be able to champion the situation. I set out and asked multiple residents this same question, “what issues do they think we will face.” The response from our residents comes back to one answer, non-organic growth. Growth is wonderful for our town but in many ways, we have forced the aspect of growth and this has caused issues. We are seeing property damage, high rates of drug use, and issues with our infrastructure. Forced growth does not help our residents, personnel, or our visitors. I believe we can accomplish more healthy, natural growth in our town that will provide our residents with better opportunities and a better quality of life.
